Inside Sales Representative

Inside Sales Representative - Calgary, AB (Job Code: IS03)

As an integral member of our Inside sales team, and working effectively with our remote locations, your primary responsibility is to co-ordinate customer related services. Specific duties will include:

  • Handling day to day service and non-routine requests (i.e. quotes) from customers
  • Supporting Account Managers when necessary through direct relations with customers & suppliers and handling all key customer/supplier requirements
  • Effective coordination and provision of customer service
  • Ensuring customer delivery expectations are met
  • Reconciling departments at each month end to ensure all completed transactions are invoiced or corrected
  • Coaching Invoicing/Data Entry staff
  • Assist Invoicing Coordinator to resolve order discrepancies
  • Source necessary products/services, coordinated with Procurement for tubulars
  • Communicate with vendors, stock yards and all other Hallmark departments
  • Create and maintain sales orders and appropriate SO files
  • Create and update work order requests for HITS Operations & Inventory 
  • Work with Account Manager(s) to maintain and update sales order shipment dates for both active and forecast sales orders
  • Obtain necessary pricing quotations from third party suppliers
  • Create & maintain sales quotes
  • Ensure data integrity in Navision through weekly and monthly reports (WIP, O/S SO’s, O/S PO’s, etc.)
  • Clear inventory reconciliation issues, per inventory monthly reconciliation sheets 
  • Manage customer’s inventory including manufacturing accessories.

Qualifications/Experience Required 

  • A minimum 5 years experience in a customer service environment, preferably within a  tubulars environment
  • Ideal candidate will have successfully completed a post-secondary education, preferably in a related field.  Equivalent education and experience will also be considered
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency with related software applications (i.e. Navision) and Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work within a dynamic culture and an emphasis on customer service
  • Problem Solving - Displays foresight in identifying problems at an early stage. Observes and confronts problems to minimize possible effects and gains commitment to solutions for non-routine problems 
  • Able to identify the most optimum ways to make effective use of all resources involved running various activities, able to work on various tasks simultaneously in an effective manner
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Working within the energy industry and/or familiarity with oilfield tubular goods would be a considerable asset
