Industry Participation
Hallmark contributes to numerous technical industry committees to ensure our purchasing practices are compliant with western Canadian regulatory requirements. This approach keeps us current with proposed changes to regulatory requirements and ensures we manufacture your long-lead-time OCTG to the proposed new standards.
Hallmark’s engineers serve on the following committees:
- ERCB D010 – Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board Minimum Casing Design Requirements – This committee is accountable for developing the minimum design requirements for mechanical loading and material specifications. The draft material requirements (effective June 2009) will exceed standard API 5CT requirements.
- Industry Recommended Practices (IRP) Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3 – These IRP documents control minimum design requirements for mechanical loading and material specifications for critical sour and thermal wells exceeding standard API 5CT requirements.
- API Drilling and Completions Standards Conference – Participating on the NACE sub-committee for materials corrosion testing.
- Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) and Alberta Transportation Safety Services – Developing safe load securement standards for OCTG and accessories.
Hallmark engineers have worked closely with many leading global steel manufactures to develop manufacturing and inspection plans (MIPs) and quality control plans (QCPs) to ensure your OCTG and linepipe standards are met or exceeded.
