Senior Business Analyst
We currently have the following Contract opportunity available in our Calgary office:
Senior Business Analyst - Contract Role
As an integral member of the Business Services Team, the results-oriented Business Analyst will be responsible for creating project charters, leading discovery sessions, facilitating stakeholder meetings, creating business requirements, creating functional specifications, developing test strategies and plans, developing communication strategies and plans, producing use cases, develop UAT scripts, executing UAT scripts, oversee testing and deployment, develop and deliver training, and develop process, procedure, and work instruction documentation.
Specific duties will include:
- Communicates with Subject Matter Experts, Business Process owners, and Project teams to negotiate general approaches and program requirements in developing system specifications.
- Lead or participate in providing cost-effective technology solutions to various business units.
- Document business needs, processes flows, system settings, and changes.
- Implementation of new business processes.
- Assist in the design and development of complete workflow processes.
- Develop and execute UAT (User Acceptance Test cases).
- Establish reporting requirements.
- Provide primary and secondary support for existing applications.
- Other key IT responsibilities as required.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Possess a degree in Business Process, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Possess a practical working knowledge of distribution and accounting in the Oil and Gas industries.
- Proven experience in implementing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions (i.e.: SAP, JD Edwards, or MS Navision).
- Ability to analyze operational problems and recommend innovative solutions.
- Aptitude to learn and understand business usage of the system and make suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with MS Office products, and MS SharePoint 2010 platform.
- Demonstrated ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and internal business partners. Uses interpersonal skills very effectively in coordinating technical tasks.
- Ability to juggle multiple concurrent assignments.
- Strong attention to detail.
This is a Contract role that is 6 months in length with the possibility of extension to 1 year.
